The Challenge

Wanted: A vision for an EAI architecture that distributes data extracts from SAP through GIS to multiple backend legacy systems.

The Solution

RFC-enabled functions in SAP extract the required data and spool it out to files on the SAP app server. The RFC functions are called by a GIS BP through the SAP BAPI Adapter. The functions return status information and the path and file name of the extracted data. Another BP kicks off and gets the files by FTP and passes them on to another BP that FTPs the files to the backend system.
